If you have clicked through to this page you are probably wondering who is behind this site. [The 'why' is answered in Über Adlernest].
I am a home-educating parent in a country where it is legal. I co-ordinate a regional network of home-educating families who use a diverse array of methodologies from unschooling, to packaged curriculum, unit studies to eclecticism, and personally have an experience with all of these.
The reasons that we personally chose home education include: feeling it was our responsibility and not the State's anyway, wanting to nuture the sacred organism of family, wanting a superior low-ratio tailor-made education for each child, flexibility, wanting to continue to foster the love of learning and be part of seeing their sense of achievement and discovery of the "light-bulb" moments, being a better fit for a gifted child, choice/control over what the children learn, protecting them from negative peer pressure and bullying, and so much more.
"The problem today is that parenthood is no longer lasting as long as childhood. "
Dr Gordon Neufeld, author of Hold on to your kids
I am driven to find practical ways, systems and solutions to everyday situations and challenges, hence Adlernest.
Most of the styling on this site has been done by myself - not before pulling out some of my feathers, mind you.

Unfortunately we have lost our meta data associated with our photos, hopefully only temporarily, so below is incomplete.

[We realise this is an American Bald Eagle and not a German white-tailed eagle and chick, but we couldn't find an image of the later. If you do would you please direct us to the source. Thanks]
